One of my favorite places in the South is no doubt Gulf Shores, Alabama. We spent a perfect weekend at Gulf State Park in a cabin 5 minutes from the beach. Gulf Shores is an hour outside of Mobile, Alabama. It’s a big spring break destination in the South, but we went in February to spare ourselves the discomfort of being surrounded by drunk collegiates. The kids had fun playing at the beach, walking the pier, and seeing several pelicans up close.
